چکیده

The alpha-particle emission spectrum in beam-injected (non-Maxwellian) deuterium-tritium (DT) burning plasma is examined by solving the Boltzmann-Fokker-Planck (BFP) equations for deuteron, triton and alpha-particle simultaneously. It is shown that owing to the existence of energetic component in fuel-ion energy distribution functions due to neutral-beam injection (NBI) and/or nuclear elastic scattering (NES), the generation rate of the high-energy ( > 3.52MeV ) alpha-particle increases significantly compared with the case for Gaussian distribution. The influence of the broadened energy spectrum on the alpha-heating characteristics is discussed.

Anisotropic Fusion-product Generation and Emission Spectra in Beam-injected DT Plasmas

The double differential emission spectra for fusion-produced alpha-particle and neutron as a function of emission energy and angle relative to the direction of beam injection are examined on the basis of the one dimensional (1D) Boltzmann-Fokker-Planck (BFP) model in beam-injected (non-Maxwellian) deuterium-tritium (DT) plasmas. It is shown that owing to the existence of energetic component in ...

Predictions of H-mode performance in ITER

Time-dependent integrated predictive modelling is carried out using the PTRANSP code to predict fusion power and parameters such as alpha particle density and pressure in ITER H-mode plasmas. Auxiliary heating by negative ion neutral beam injection and ion-cyclotron heating of He 3 minority ions are modelled, and the GLF23 transport model is used in the prediction of the evolution of plasma tem...

Beam emission spectroscopy for density turbulence measurements on the MAST spherical tokamak.

Beam emission spectroscopy (BES) of the energetic deuterium (D(0)) heating beams can provide a means of characterizing the density turbulence in tokamak plasmas. First such measurements have been performed on the MAST spherical tokamak using a trial BES system, which shares the collection optics of the charge-exchange recombination spectroscopy system. This system, with eight spatial channels c...

Alfven Cyclotron Instability and Ion Cyclotron Emission

Two-dimensional solutions of compressional Alfven eigenmodes (CAE) are studied in the cold plasma approximation. For finite inverse aspect ratio tokamak plasmas the two-dimensional eigenmode envelope is localized at the low magnetic field side with the radial and poloidal localization on the order of u / f i and u/*, respectively, where rn is the dominant poloidal mode number. Charged fusion pr...
